Climate: Mediterranean influenced climate with hot summers and mild winters
Terroir: Sloping vineyard, located in the area of cabrières, north of Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation controlée. Vines are planted on a soilbed of round smooth pebbles, clay and sand.
Ageing: Between 20 to 25 days of fermentation. Matured in vats and then in wooden tuns for a year. Bottled after 2 or 3 years.
Color: Lovely ruby red color of beautiful intensity
Nose: Very expressive ripe and black fruit nose, floral aromas and fresh notes of liqorice
Palate: The beautiful full, silky mouthfeel has elegant minerality with refines and melted tanins. The very aromatic finish is highlighted by spicy freshness of liquorice

La Milliere owns 26 hectares of vineyards since 1940. Their vineyards are home to some seriously old Grenache vines, planted between 1891-1920. None of them are younger than 50 years old. They value manual over mechanical. Organic over chemical. Small production over large. They don’t bend to trends in winemaking. Everything they do has a deliberate purpose leading to one goal that is framing the true character of the grapes.
